Sunfish like this East Texas bluegill might not look like too much to get excited about for some anglers across the Red River Valley. But as the entry point for many lifelong anglers including longtime Herald Democrat outdoors writer Lynn Burkhead (above), the power of the mighty little bluegill is undisputed. And as this Memorial Day holiday weekend arrives, why not spend some time on the water targeting this diminutive All-American piscatorial species?
