LOIS B. RUNNELS

1953-2023

Lois B. Runnels peacefully relocated to Heaven on April 5, 2023, at the age of 69. Lois was born October 12, 1953, in Dallas, Texas to Russell and Eloise Barr. Lois graduated from Sherman High School and attended Grayson County College before being employed at Burlington Industries. Later, she joined the team at Bayless-Hall Insurance where she worked for almost 40 years. She was an ACSR for both personal and commercial lines and held the positions of Commercial Lines Manager and Office Manager. Lois was a member of the Insurance Women of Texoma where she held several officer positions and participated on various committees.

Lois was passionate about people. She loved helping the less fortunate and those in need. Her favorite place to donate was the Grayson Crisis Center.

Lois was a proud Mom of her only daughter, Joy. However, she embraced Joy’s friends as her own and all her stepchildren as blood.

Lois married the love of her life, EC (Butch) Runnels, on June 6, 1993. Over the years, they enjoyed traveling together and working in their garden. Love permeated the walls of their home, which could be felt by anyone that visited.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents Russell and Eloise Barr, sister Karen Barr, brother-in-law Billy Jack Runnels, and stepson Gerry Runnels.

Lois is survived by her husband of 30 years, EC (Butch) Runnels, daughter and son-in-law Joy and Vincent Freeman of Plano, sister and brother-in-law Donna Johnson and Jim Montgomery of Mesquite, brother Lee Barr of Mesquite, sister-in-law Melba Runnels and children of Sherman, stepdaughter and husband C. Marie and Scott Lloyd of Arizona, stepson Brandon Runnels of Arizona, niece and husband Tish and Mike Cozine and son Gage of Grapevine, niece and husband Dee Ann Johnson and Gene LeFevers of Mesquite, nephew Richard Johnson of Garland, niece and husband Jessica and Ronald Jackson and son William of Little Elm; grandchildren: Grady Cobb of Houston, Ashton Lloyd of Oregon, D’lanie Runnels of Sherman, Kailey and Micha Lloyd of Arizona, Nicky Haws of New Mexico and many other extended family members.

She also leaves behind many lifelong friends.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas.

Family night will be Friday, April 14, at Fisher Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
