BONHAM — The Creative Arts Center of Bonham has several activities scheduled for March.
An exhibition of artwork by Anne Genung will be featured at the center during two openings - March 7 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and March 8 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served and admission is free.
Genung’s pieces, known as "the Willies" began as a student project and has grown. Using fine art icons such as the Mona Lisa and super heros icons such as Batman and Robin, Genung changes them by screen-printing the face of country music legend Willie Nelson onto them. Nelson is said to own several of these collages.
As a fundraiser in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day and the Ides of March, the center will hold a fundraising dinner on March 14. The menu includes traditional Irish fare such as cornbed beef and cabbage. There will also be music, games and prizes. Attendees are encouraged to wear togas.
Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple.
For tickets or more information, call 903-640-2196. The center is located at 200 West 5th Street in Bonham.
