BONHAM — The First Saturday Music Show will be held this Saturday, 7 p.m., at the Bonham Senior Center, 210 East 6th Street. The show is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted and appreciated. Proceeds benefit the Bonham Area Meals on Wheels program.

Expected performers include Bob Corley, Marshall Ray Ashby, Lenny Paulk, Donna Henard, EJ Miller and the McFarland Family.

Avendano honored

GUNTER — Jonathan Avendano, a member of the Gunter High School Band, has been selected as a member of the Association of Texas Small School Bands’ All-State Band. He is a student of Justin Walls and Chad Smith and plays clarinet in the school band, under the direction of Justin Wallis.

Avendano was chosen for the honor in competitive auditions held across the state at rregional and area levels. More than 9,000 high school band students from 20 different regions auditioned.

Rehearsals for the All-State Bands will be in San Antonio Feb. 12 through 15. A concert will then be held, starting at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 15 in the Lila Cockrell Theatre of the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio.

SAVOY — The Savoy Elementary School has announced students earning either the Superintendent’s Honor Roll or the "A" Honor Roll for the third six weeks. They are listed below, by grade.
