Ronald and Sarah Beaver of Sherman will mark 50 years of marriage this week. They are planning a trip for later this year.


The Beavers were married on July 20, 1965 in Lawton, Oklahoma.


Sarah Beaver was born in Sherman, the daughter of Bennie Ray and Julia (Ball) Allen. She attended Telephone School and Honey Grove High School and served as the vice president of J.C. Potter Sausage Company and the human resources manager for Denison Industries. She is a member of Victory Life Church in Sherman, the Texoma Health Foundation Breast Cancer Support Group, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She teaches water aerobics at Health Trends in Denison, is a gourmet cook, and enjoys needlework and ancestry research.


Ronald Beaver was born in Copper Hill, Polk County, Tennessee, the son of Paris F. and Eula Mae (Grizzle) Beaver. He worked as a butcher for Safeway and then with the Oscar Mayer plant. He is a member of the Bells Masonic Lodge, the National Rifle Association, the Texoma Patriots, the American Legion and the Denison Elks Lodge. He is a former musician, playing guitar and serving as the lead vocalist with a local band.


The Beaver’s children are Benny and Dawn Beaver of Denison, Ted and Deb Beaver of Bells and Scott Beaver of McKinney. They have four grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
