Webster Crocker will be directing the local youth theatre group Theatricks in the March Production of Anne of Green Gables. The play is adapted from the award-winning book by L.M. Montgomery by Joseph Robinette of the Dramatic Publishing Company.
This dramatization captures the charm and excitement of the enduring classic about an orphan girl, Anne Shirley, from her first encounter with her austere guardian to her thrilling graduation from Queen’s Academy. The play faithfully recreates the memorable events and characters from the brilliant novel.
Sarah Williams plays lead role of Anne with the dramatic flair that fans of the story will love. Supporting her is Tom Bryson plays Matthew Cuthbert as the soft spot and Carolyn Nicholson portrays tough on the outside with tender heart Marillia Cuthbert.
All the tragedies and triumphs that mark Anne’s growth from Adolescence to early adulthood are here: her friendship with Diana (played by Andrea Bryson) , her feuds with Gilbert (played by Sebastian Murden), her adoration of Matthew, the mistaken wine bottle, the cake disaster, the broken leg, the scholastic achievements, and the saving of her Green Gables.
Theatricks prides itself on bringing classic literature to life for children’s theatre and allowing opportunities for local youth to get involved. The events provide great family entertainment for the young as well as the young at heart.
