There will be plenty of family fun to be had this weekend in Texoma. The local community theater will begin showing its latest show. Sherman will be putting on its annual Juneteenth celebration. There will also be a car show in Durant, along with a comedy show at the casino this weekend. Additionally, on Saturday individuals can learn the art of fishing from an employee at Eisenhower State Park.

Here are five events for a busy weekend.

1. Jets v. Sharks

The Sherman Community Players are opening its last production of the 70th season this weekend. “West Side Story” begins showing Friday and will continue through June 23. The play will be showing at Kidd-Key Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at

2. Juneteenth 2019

The city of Sherman will be celebrating Juneteenth with its annual celebration starting at 11 a.m. Saturday on the Sherman Municipal Lawn. There will be a parade at 11 a.m. Then a car show and kid zone will be available for area residents and guests starting at noon. 3. Cars, cars and more cars

The Draggin’ Main Car Show and Cruise will be held in Durant, Oklahoma, this weekend. The show begins with registration at 4 p.m. Friday in downtown Durant and an Elvis tribute concert at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the car show begins at 11 a.m. with registration starting at 9 a.m. The burnout contest is at noon and an awards presentation will begin at 3 p.m. For more information on the downtown Durant event, visit

4. Seinfeld

Jerry Seinfeld will be at WinStar World Casino and Resort this weekend. The comedian will have a show at 8 p.m. in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Tickets can be purchased at

5. Ranger fishing

Eisenhower State Park will be offering the opportunity for beginners to get some expert fishing advice during a program this weekend. The park patrons can fish with a park ranger from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday near the lighted fishing pier. Participants will learn how to bait a hook, cast a line and other fishing basics.
