Denison City-wide Ministerial Alliance sets Sunday fellowship


DENISON — The Denison City-wide Ministerial Alliance will hold its 2nd Sunday night fellowship at 6 p.m. Sunday at Alpha & Omega Baptist Church.


The messenger will be Hopewell Baptist Church pastor, C.E. Evans.


Alpha & Omega Baptist church is located a 401 E. Sears St. in Denison.


St. John CME Church holds luncheon, dinner


SHERMAN — The Stewardess Board of St. John Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will hold a chicken and beef spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday that will include tossed salad, garlic bread, dessert and drink.

The church’s Missionary Society will hold its annual salad luncheon and silent auction from 1-3 p.m. Sunday.


A variety of baskets will be available to bid on, including a kitchen basket, snack basket, laundry basket, beverage basket and garden basket.


A donation of $7 per person for the luncheon will be accepted.

God’s House of Faith & Worship Center honors pastors


DENISON — God’s House of Faith & Worship Center will honor Pastors Dwight and Carrie Thomas for their 16 years of service at 3 p.m. Sunday.


The theme will be, “Three dimensions of the seasoned saint,” based on I Corinthians 3:6-10.


Apostle Tweedy Thomas of God is Ministries in DeSoto will be the special guest.

Western Beauty CME Church hosts women’s day program


WHITEWRIGHT — Western Beauty Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will host its annual women’s day program at 3 p.m. Sunday.


The Rev. Patty Moore of Porter Temple CME Church in Dallas will be the guest speaker. Moore was previously pastor of Western Beauty for six years.

First Baptist Church of Burleson presents concert


BURLESON — The Psalms Journey Quartet and The Wills Family, both from the Fort Worth area, will present a southern gospel concert from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday in the Worship West Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Burleson.


There will be no admission charge, but a love offering will be collected benefiting ministries in Johnson County.
