Throughout Texoma, Christmas celebrations and activities are in full swing. No matter the corner of the region, there is fun to be had. Visit Denison for a tree lighting Friday or a loft tour Saturday. Visit Sherman for a museum open house Saturday or a home tour Sunday. In Bonham, there will also be a museum open house Saturday and the ice skating rink in Denison is accepting patrons every day. Here are five events to keep the weekend busy.

1. Tree lighting

The Denison Public Library will have its tree lighting ceremony Friday at the library located at 300 W. Gandy in Denison. There will be refreshments, pictures with Santa and more. The Children’s Chorus of Greater North Texas will be performing. All activities are free. The tree lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m.

2. Tour the city

Sherman and Denison will be having home tours this weekend. On Saturday, the annual Tour of Lofts will take place on Main Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are available at shops on Main Street. 3. Santa is coming to town

Christmas at the Sherman Museum will be held Saturday. There will be half-priced admissions during the normal hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for all individuals who present a non-perishable food item to the museum. Santa will be at the museum from 1-3 p.m. There will also be a tree at the museum where guests can place an ornament.

4. Skating weather

The Denison On Ice skating rink will be open again this weekend. The rink, which is located at 530 W. Main Street in Denison, is open from 1-10 p.m. on the weekends and 5-10 p.m. on the week days. 5. A World War I Christmas

The Sam Rayburn House State Historic in Bonham will have its annual holiday open house starting at 10 a.m. at the site located at 890 W. State Highway 56 in Bonham. There will be treats and a kids craft. Admission is free. Tours are 30 minutes. During the tour, a guide will highlight things that would have been present during a World War I Christmas.
