This weekend in Grayson County is filled with activities. If you like tractors, there will be a tractor pull in Whitewright. This weekend in Denison, there will be a touch-a-truck event for children as well as a free movie for everyone. Also this weekend is Celina’s Fourth of July event and Denison Dance Academy will be putting on the ballet “Cinderella.” Here are five events all around Grayson County.

1. Big hauling

The Whitewright Truck and Tractor Pull is back again and the two-day event expects to bring in more than 5,000 spectators this weekend. It begins Friday and will continue Saturday at 14541 State Highway 11 in Whitewright. Gates will open each day at 5 p.m. Ticket price for adults is $20, kids 6-12 are $10 and 5 and under get in free. Coolers and lawn chairs are welcome and there will be plenty of food from vendors on site.

2. More summer reading fun

The Denison Public Library’s second “Touch-a-Truck” event will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 300 W. Gandy St. in Denison. See trucks and equipment from fire trucks to police vehicles and construction equipment and much more. This year’s participants include Denison Public Works, Denison Fire Department, Denison Police Department, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department, and storm chaser Roy Reed. 3. Outdoor theater

Catch an outdoor movie in Denison on Saturday. “Movies on Main” will be showing the 2017 film “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Heritage Park. The event is free. Bring your own chairs and blankets. Concessions will be available. Food vendors will be on site.

4. Water slides and more

Celina will be hosting a “Splash & Blast” Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Old Celina Park, 12670 FM 428, Celina. This is Celina’s free annual community event celebrating Independence Day. There will be water slides, food, music and a fireworks show at dark. Jon Christopher Davis will be performing.

5. Dance troupe

Denison Dance Academy will be performing the ballet “Cinderella” this weekend. The show will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at Kid-Key Auditorium, 400 S. Elm St., in Sherman. Adult tickets are $15, children 12 and under are $5 until Friday at Denison Dance Academy. Tickets will be available at the Kidd-Key box office the day of the performance from 5 p.m. until the start of the show. Denison Dance Academy is located at 325 W. Main St. in Denison.
