YARNABY, Okla. — Yarnaby Assembly of God will host a bluegrass, gospel service at 6 p.m. Sunday. Performing will be New County Line.
Church board member Eddie Ring said music is important to the evening worship service on the fourth Sunday of the month.
“We bring in various groups to perform, or some months we have congregational singing,” he said.
Ring said the church selected New County Line for this week’s performance because the group performed well when they were at the church previously.
“They are an outstanding group that has been with us before, and we really wanted to have them back,” he said.
Out of Whitesboro, New County Line has been nominated for the Blue Grass Gospel Group of the Year award by the Texoma Gospel Music Association. The group features Charles Wooly on mandoline, Bob Carlisle on bass, Dale Anderson on guitar, Travis Davis on guitar, and Brad Davis on banjo and dobro. All members of the group sing as well.
In addition to the group’s nomination for top honors, Brad Davis has been nominated for Vocalist of the Year and Instrumentalist of the Year by the Texoma Gospel Music Association.
Yarnaby Assembly of God is located at 1307 Yarnaby Road just off Highway 78, east of Hendrix, Oklahoma.
