Junior Dan Adkins, of Howe, passed away at his home on December 21, 2022.

He was born April 16, 1936. He worked for the City of Sherman for 27 years and retired as a Captain Fire Inspector. He served in the Air Force and was a member for over 50 years of the local Masonic Lodge.

Junior is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jamie Ann Adkins; his children, Delanna Mitchell and her husband, Mike, of Van Alstyne, TX; Tracy Goldson and his wife, Peggy, of Collinsville, TX; Terrie Farris and her husband, Jeff, of Sherman, TX; and Cheryl Hickman of Sherman, TX; his grandchildren, Tosha Searls and her husband, Jerry, of Van Alstyne, TX; Brittney Scott and her husband, Dameon, of Southmayd, TX; Brittney Mitchell of Denison, TX; Joshua Farris of Quinlan, TX; Joel Farris and his wife, Krysten, of Carrollton, TX; Garrett Goldston of Thackerville, OK; Pete Hickman and Ashley, of Pottsboro, TX; Zachary Hickman of Sherman, TX; and Libbey Taylor and her husband, Lucas, of Southmayd, TX; and 11 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way.

He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Adkins, and his son-in-law, Pete Hickman.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 26th, at 2:00 p.m. at Akers Cemetery, Sherman, TX. Brother Bobby Fletcher will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Dorchester.
