Judith Ann Beckett

On November 7th, 1940 Judith Ann Beckett was born the 1st child of Ezra Bow Beckett and Evelyn Inez Sanders Beckett. She left this life on April 6th, 2022 at the age of 81 in Sherman, TX. the same place of her birth. “Judy” had a childhood of responsibility being the oldest. After graduating Sherman High School she attended Texas Women’s University where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. Judy was deeply religious and after college moved with a group of people to New Jersey and the North East part of the U.S. to establish more Churches of Christ in the area. She had no idea what she was going to do for a job but got an emergency teaching certificate from the State of N.J. to teach, before returning to College in the summer to get a few more education courses to get a permanent teaching degree. She ending up teaching for 43 years mostly in the 1st grade. She still reached her goal of helping to establish several Congregations of the Lord’s Body all the while touching lives. She taught kids and their kids and some of their Grandchildren in those 43 years. After retiring from Teaching in N.J. she returned to Texas where she filled in for her Sister-in-law that was battling Cancer teaching once more. She moved on from there to help take care of her aged Mother till her death. Then Judy bought herself a house and finally Retired. Judy was active as her health allowed at Church and with family and friends. She had reconnected with many childhood friends and made new ones as well. Judy’s influence will be missed along with an infectious laugh.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her Sister-in-law Cassy Jo Beckett. One Sister Mary Margaret Beckett Pope, Two Brothers, Billy Charles Beckett and Samuel Morris Beckett. She is survived by one Brother, Daniel Bow Beckett and wife Evelyn of

She is survived by one Brother, Daniel Bow Beckett and wife Evelyn of Pottsboro, TX. Two Nephews, Daniel “Bow” Beckett Jr. and wife Gwena of Van Alstyne, TX. and Brandon Alan Beckett and wife Jamie of Whitesboro, TX. Also one Niece, Emily Elaine Beckett Key and husband Dennis of Whitesboro, TX. She is also survived by several Great Nieces and Nephews as well as a life time of friends.

Funeral services are being handled by Waldo Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Tuesday April 12th from 6-8pm at Waldo Funeral Home. Services will be on Wednesday April 13th at 10:00 AM at the Western Heights Church of Christ 800 Baker Park Dr. in Sherman, TX with Rusty Sherry, Minister Officiating. The Family wishes to invite anyone acquainted with Judy to come and share and riminess with us about Judy and the wonderful life she lived!
