Joretta Aaron Garvin, 94, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 25, 2022. Joretta was born April 28, 1928, in Tioga, Texas, to Cecil and Retta Miller Aaron.

A teacher in the Sherman Independent School district until her retirement in 1988, Joretta loved impacting young lives through education.

Surviving Joretta is her daughter, Rebecca Adams, daughter-in-law, Ginger Garvin, sister, Sandra McKinney,three grandchildren, Gina Garvin, Dena Culpepper (John), Kevin Garvin (Renee), and five greatgrandchildren, Riley Stricker, Connor Hastcoat, Alison Culpepper, Erin Elise Culpepper and Grant Garvin,

She was preceded in death by her husband of 79 years, Bob Garvin, her son, Robert Garvin, sonin-law, Jerry Adams, parents, Cecil and Retta Miller Aaron, brothers Billy Aaron and Cecil Wayne Aaron, and sister Iva Gene Blevins.

Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
