Grand Central Station asks for help

This week, Grand Central Station Soup Kitchen and Dining Care reached out to the public for help with an urgent need. The soup kitchen is in need of any kind of canned meat.

“We aren’t able to get canned meat from the food bank right now and are running really low,” a post from GCS said. “Any kind would be appreciated, but canned tuna, chicken, and salmon are the healthiest options.”

Throughout the summer months, the soup kitchen also is seeking bottled water to give to individuals who come in for services.

Donations can be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday or 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. You can also donate through PayPal on their website http://www.grandcentralsherman.com.

“Thanks so much for all your support!,” the post said. “We truly appreciate any help you can offer!”

GCS is located at 619 East Houston Street in Sherman. Grand Central Station serves the homeless and those in need in the community throughout the year.

The Dining Car provides nutritious prepared meals in a family-friendly, climate-controlled environment. On weekdays, breakfast, including coffee and juice, is served from 9-10 a.m., and lunch is served from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
