We have received reports that someone is calling community members and falsely claiming to be Deputy Brian Ford from the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office.

These callers are aggressive, telling people not to hang up and insisting they stay on the phone while going to a kiosk or ATM to move money for supposed traffic fines or other fees. In some cases, they even demand payment through cryptocurrency.

This is a scam.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office will never:

• Call you demanding money.

• Instruct you to withdraw or transfer money at a kiosk or ATM.

• Ask for payment in cryptocurrency, gift cards, or other unusual methods.

If you receive a call like this, hang up immediately and do not provide any personal or financial information.
