1932-2023

Eldon Junior Watson passed from this earthly life on April 26, 2023. Eldon was born Oct. 25, 1932, in Orangeville, TX to Cecil Dane Watson & Beatrice Jewel Creecy Watson. Eldon grew up in Whitewright, TX. He married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Beall, on Aug. 26, 1955, at Grand Ave. church of Christ in Sherman, TX. They raised 3 fine sons. Eldon retired from T.P. & L. in 1992 after working as storekeeper in the Sherman, Lufkin & Gainesville locations. He was a long-time member of the Commerce St. church of Christ in Gainesville, TX. He loved sports, especially baseball and the Texas Rangers. He was also an avid “42” player. He was devoted to Shirley, his wife, and loved his family. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, C.J. Watson. He is survived by his wife Shirley; sons Rick Watson & wife Vicki of Bonham; Danny Watson & wife Mitzi of Howe; Markus Watson & wife Amy of Davis, OK; 7 grandchildren: Cory Watson, Lacy Buynak, Brandon Watson, Kirsten Watt, Alex Martin, Caytlyn Plunk & Sawyer Watson; 15 great-grandchildren: Knox, Evan, Lyla, Bergan, Colby, Sawyer, Tera, Kamryn, Isaac, Evalyn, Ezra, Dawson, Jacob, Anneliese & Alandra; 1 great-great-grandchild Coralee; and a multitude of cousins, nieces & nephews.

Family Visitation will be at Waldo Funeral Home on Sunday, April 30, from 2:00-4:00 pm and funeral will be Monday, May 1 at Waldo Funeral Home at 2:00pm followed by a graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Whitewright, Tx. Online Condolences may be made at www.waldofuneralhome.com .
