1937-2022

Bonham- E.D. “Possum” Thomas, 85, born in Savoy, Texas to J.B. and Gwen Thomas in his family home on August 10, 1937. He passed away peacefully in his home on December 29, 2022, the same land he was born on. The Thomas family moved to Borger, Texas when E.D. was a child. He was a star basketball player and graduated from Borger High School in 1957. He met and married the love of his life, Margarette on April 10, 1987. They had 35 wonderful years together. Possum retired as a machinist from Texas Instruments and went on to own his own trucking company.

He is survived by his wife, Margarette Thomas of Savoy, Texas, his sisters, Connie King of Pasadena, Texas and Barbara Glass of Savoy, Texas, his children Candy (Tony) Marquez, Todd Thomas, Cindy (Brian) Roder, Bruce Green, Annette Dunkle, Ronnie (Linda) Green, and Stephen Green. He is also survived by his 21 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren and his precious furbaby, Socks. He is preceded in death by his parents, J.B. and Gwen Thomas and daughters, Terri Thomas, and Anita

Green. Family night will be held at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, Texas on January 3 from 6pm-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at Hebron Baptist Church in Bells, Texas on January 4 at 2pm. Pastor Russell Clemons will preside. Grandsons will serve as pall bearers.
