Doris Koiner O’Brien, 82, finally stopped working on April 27, 2023 at Texoma Medical Center.
Doris began working at TMC (formerly known as Memorial Hospital) in 1966. Being TMC’s longest tenured employee was something she cherished. She took pride in her work and enjoyed developing relationships with everyone around her. She was adored and loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is affectionately remembered by family as an Elvis fan and a thrifting aficionado who had the most kindhearted, generous and selfless spirit. Doris enjoyed watching the wildlife at her home, feeding raccoons, cats, deer, and any other animals that visited. She loved checking her birdhouses to watch the progress her feathered friends would make from building a nest, to laying eggs, to the hatching of the eggs and leaving the nest.
Survivors include her daughter, Debbie (Floyd) Smith; granddaughter, Jennyfer (Zach) Kemp; grandson, Craig (Tori) Monroe; great-grandchildren, Loegan, Korben, Zoie and Kurstyn; sisters, Betty Prewett, Shirley (Larry) Mullins; brothers, James Koiner, Richard (Louise) Koiner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, JC and Eunice Koiner; brothers, Bobby Koiner and Charles Koiner; niece, Theresa Mullins; ex-husband and lifetime friend, Jim O’Brien.
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Fisher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel with Dr. Rickey Hargrave officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, 604 West Main in Denison.
