Danny Jay Roberts, 49, of Whitesboro, Texas was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

Danny was born on July 2, 1973 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Donald Ray and Judy (Briscoe) Roberts Sr. He was a graduate of Burkburnett High School and Midwestern State University with a degree in Criminal Justice. Danny devoted many years to the Criminal Justice field. He began his career with the Texas Department of Family Services/Child Protective Services, and he later moved on to working in both juvenile and adult community supervision and corrections. Danny was currently serving as a Community Supervision Officer with Grayson County. He was a faithful Christian man who loved his family tremendously, and with the servant’s heart he possessed, he spent many years caring for others in the community and especially his family. Danny enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. His nieces were his pride and joy and he loved doing whatever they asked. He went above and beyond to help his mother in any and every way.

He is survived by his mother, Judy Roberts of Whitesboro; brother, Donald Roberts Jr. of McKinney; sister, Cynthia Bice and husband, Chase of Anna; nieces, Cassie and Carli Bice; as well as his aunts, Jan McNew, Jennifer McKay and husband, Stan, Thelma Lee Park, Frances Roberts and Jean Briscoe; and several cousins.

Danny was preceded in death by his father, Donald Ray Roberts Sr.; grandparents, Walter and Grace Briscoe and Calvin and Gladys Roberts; uncles, Cornell Roberts, Billy “Bull” Briscoe, Ray Park, Charles McNew; aunt, Jo Ann Briscoe; his loving dog, Guthrie, and numerous other four-legged family members.

Funeral services honoring Danny will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Meador Funeral Home of Whitesboro. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
