Grayson County commissioners Tuesday will consider a request from the Sheriff’s Office to add a position to its staff.
Commissioners meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Grayson County Courthouse, 100 W. Houston Street, in Sherman. The meeting is available to view live at https://www.co.grayson.tx.us/page/co.ccourt.
GC Sheriff Tony Bennie has an item on the agenda that asks commissioners to discuss his desire to create a re-entry coordinator position at the jail. If commissioners agree to that, they will then be asked to allow Bennie to transfer money from his budget to fund the cash match for a grant to support the position in fiscal 2026.
Commissioners will also consider the following requests:
• Discuss and take action to approve entering into the revised Texas Infertility Prevention Project (TIPP) Procedures of Collaboration between Cardea, the Texas Department of State Health Services and Grayson County.
• Discuss and take action on the Interlocal Agreement for the Co-Responder Program between Texoma Community Center and Grayson County to enable the center to expand access to intervene for crisis response services for individuals in a behavioral health emergency.
• Discuss and take action to authorize the County Judge to sign the contracts between Grayson County Juvenile Services and Bowie County, Cherokee County, Coryell County, Eastland County, Houston County, Karnes County, Medina County, Navarro County, Swisher and Castro County, Wilson County.
• Discuss and take action on an amendment to the 2016 Interlocal Agreement between North Texas Tollway Authority and Grayson County to modify the rate paid to the county for refused registrations.
• Discuss and take action on the Short Plat Aguilar Addition in Precinct 2.
• Discuss and take action on the Short Plat Eeds Addition on Dugan Chapel Road in Precinct 2.
• Discuss and take action on the Short Plat BRC Estates No. 1 in Precinct 3.
Citizens who wish to discuss any item listed on the agenda for the meeting may do so by completing a “Request to Speak Card” and giving it to the court’s clerk before Commissioners Court convenes. Citizen comments are limited to three minutes.
