Charlsie Mae (Norris) Gracy of Weston, Texas passed away on April 30, 2022 at the age of 90. She was born on April 12, 1932 to Homer and Willie (Clayborn) Norris in Clayton, New Mexico. She married Rex Gracy on November 21, 1953 in Sherman, Texas. She served in food services for Celina ISD for 26 years until her retirement in May of 1992. She continued in her love of cooking and food service with owning and operating Gracy’s Country Restaurant with her husband and family from 1996-2003. She was well known for her baking abilities that always had customers scrambling to get their fried pies ordered well before their dinner. She was also a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Weston, as well as a member of the Weston Volunteer Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her son Jimmy Gracy of Sherman, Texas, son Tom Gracy and his wife Wendi of Pilot Point,Texas, daughter Beverly Roberts and husband Doug of Willis, Texas; brother Jack Norris and wife Robin of Savannah, Texas, sisters Robbie Morris of Huntsville, Texas, Wanda Carter of Garland, Texas, Carolyn Rivera and husband Fidel of Celina, Texas, Anita Kelly and husband Gale of Celina, Texas, and sisters in law Ann Norris of Celina, Texas and Geraldean Norris of Grapevine, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Homer and Willie Norris, her husband Rex Gracy, brothers Cecil, Bill, and Bobby Norris and sisters Ruby Crump and Betty Phipps.
Pallbearers will be Steven Roberts, Cody Roberts, Jason Roberts, Douglas Roberts, Davin Gracy, and Levi Maitland. Honorary pallbearers are Lucas Maitland, Dakoda Roberts, Morgan Gracy, Jonna Williams, and Crystal McCarter.
The family would like to thank the staff at Traditions Assisted Living Center and Hospice Plus for the excellent care she received over the years.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 2:00 at the First Baptist Church of Weston. Family visitation will be Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 6:00-8:00pm at Scoggins Funeral Home in Van Alstyne, Texas.
