Letter to the editor: We must stand by our principles

My first trip to Haiti was in 2000 when I was invited to visit a children’s hospital in the capital of Port-au-Prince. The staff at Grace Children’s Hospital was wanting to raise its level of care and decided to reach out to the US healthcare system. Up until that time, my husband and I had been involved in other short term medical volunteer trips (I as a pediatrician and he as a radiologist) with most of our outreach being in Central America.

Southeastern to celebrate contributions of sovereign tribal nations with unveiling of "The Two Brothers" sculpture on October 4

DURANT, Okla. – A collaborative project between Southeastern Oklahoma State University, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, and the Chickasaw Nation will be featured prominently on campus when “The Two Brothers” is unveiled in Legacy Plaza at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 4.
