Sherman forecasts 9.1 percent decrease in property tax revenues

The city of Sherman is expected to bring in about 9.1 percent less in property taxes over the next year when compared to the current fiscal year. The update on the city's revenue projects came last week during the first public hearing on the proposed 2025-2026 fiscal year budget, which is currently estimated to be about $197.2 million — $2.4 million less than the previous year.
