The Tom Bean ISD continued to enhance the high school campus with the groundbreaking ceremony for its new indoor activity building, a facility that has been dedicated to the memory of one of the school district’s biggest supporters.

TYLER — Gunter sophomore Parker Hoel won the Class 3A Region II boys singles title while the boys doubles duo of sophomores Jacob Tackett and Jackson Rue and Whitewright junior Danielle Slack are also headed to the 3A state tournament after runner-up finishes at regionals.

This past weekend saw Texoma covered in bass boats. Our old Lady of the Lake had her friend the wind roaring on Sunday making boats seek out places to hide. This weekend showed how nature can be fickle as Saturday it was a good day to fish. Sunday was a different bag of fishing as the wind blew hard.
POTTSBORO — The end of the regular season is in sight and only one playoff spot has been claimed in District 11-3A. Five teams are still alive with three games remaining and as berths get clinched, it may come down to two things – strong pitching performances and unsung heroes.
McKINNEY — Ashlinn Hamilton threw a no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and three walks and was 2-for-3 with a double, walked, drove in a run and scored twice as the third-place Denison Lady Yellow Jackets defeated McKinney North, 9-0, in five innings in District 10-5A action.
Connor Clark scored on a wild pitch with one out in the bottom of the seventh to complete the Sherman Bearcats’ comeback with a 5-4 walk-off victory against McKinney North in District 10-5A action at Sherman High School.
