McKINNEY — The Sherman Lady Bearcats clinched a regional spot by a single point after a third-place finish in the District 13-5A cross-country meet at Myers Park.
MUENSTER — The Collinsville Pirates won the District 13-2A title with three top-six finishes and advanced to the Class 3A Region II meet later this month.
COLLINSVILLE — The Lady Pirates have been guaranteed a playoff spot the past two years, but they won’t take it for granted.
Placed in a four-team district, Collinsville has bigger goals before entering the postseason.
SADLER — Marlee Howard had 14 kills and eight digs as S&S moved into a third-place tie after sweeping Pilot Point, 25-16, 25-7, 25-10, in District 10-3A action.

DURANT, Okla. — Following his game-winning heroics in a 22-21 victory over Arkansas-Monticello, Southeastern Oklahoma State wide receiver Marquis Gray was named Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
The top two teams in the District 11-3A standings moved up in the Texas Girls Coaches Association statewide volleyball rankings as the second half of district play is underway.
