The best thing about a rivalry involving a home-and-home match-up is the opportunity it gives both sides.
The Sherman Lady Bearcats got the best of the Denison Lady Yellow Jackets in the first meeting this season, and they were expecting their rivals to try and return the favor.

Whitewright’s Mortensen qualifies for state cross-country

GRAND PRAIRIE — Whitewright sophomore Dallin Mortensen qualified for the state cross-country meet after a top 20 finish in the Class 2A Region II race at Lynn Creek Park.
Mortensen was 16th with a time of 18:02.88 to get one of the individual berths at state, which will be Nov. 4 in Round Rock.
