SHERMAN - Donald Wayne Parks of Sherman, Texas passed away April 8, 2022, at the age of 79. He was born on April 15, 1942, to Rita Bell Pace and Ellis Wesley Parks in Sherman, Texas. He graduated class of 1961 from Leonard High School. Donald married Carolyn Sue Berry on November 29,1963 in Leonard, Texas. He served 2 years in the Army from August 1966 to July 1968.
Clifford Lee Maxson, age 85, of Celina, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022, in McKinney, Texas. He was born on January 13, 1936, in Celina, Texas, to Claud Lee and Winnie Juanita (Francis) Maxson. Clifford married the love of his life, Joy Sue Grubbs, in Celina, Texas, on June 1, 1957. He and his wife, Sue, owned their own automotive compressor repair business prior to retirement. Clifford was an avid fisherman. Clifford is survived by his beloved wife, Joy Sue Maxson of Celina, Texas; daughter, Debbie Sue Maxson O’Neal; grandchildren, James Connor O’Neal and Lindsay Joy Ann Martin; brothers and sisters, Dwight Lynn Maxson and wife, Gayle of Denton, Texas, Janis Carol Maxson of Celina, Texas, and Phillip Lawrence Maxson and wife, Linda of Garland, Texas; uncle, Keith Francis and wife, Barbara of McKinney, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Juanita Maxson; brother, Dennis Maxson; and nephew, Chris Baker. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow, 109 S. Oklahoma Street, Celina, Texas. He was born to Wes and Charlcie Washburn.
On November 7th, 1940 Judith Ann Beckett was born the 1st child of Ezra Bow Beckett and Evelyn Inez Sanders Beckett. She left this life on April 6th, 2022 at the age of 81 in Sherman, TX. the same place of her birth. “Judy” had a childhood of responsibility being the oldest. After graduating Sherman High School she attended Texas Women’s University where she graduated with a degree in Home Economics. Judy was deeply religious and after college moved with a group of people to New Jersey and the North East part of the U.S. to establish more Churches of Christ in the area. She had no idea what she was going to do for a job but got an emergency teaching certificate from the State of N.J. to teach, before returning to College in the summer to get a few more education courses to get a permanent teaching degree. She ending up teaching for 43 years mostly in the 1st grade. She still reached her goal of helping to establish several Congregations of the Lord’s Body all the while touching lives. She taught kids and their kids and some of their Grandchildren in those 43 years. After retiring from Teaching in N.J. she returned to Texas where she filled in for her Sister-in-law that was battling Cancer teaching once more. She moved on from there to help take care of her aged Mother till her death. Then Judy bought herself a house and finally Retired. Judy was active as her health allowed at Church and with family and friends. She had reconnected with many childhood friends and made new ones as well. Judy’s influence will be missed along with an infectious laugh.
Ralph C. Ryan, Jr, passed peacefully March 30, 2022, in Hampton, Virginia surrounded by his family. Born in Sherman, Texas, on Dec 29, 1940, Ralph was the son of Marjorie Mae Rogers Ryan and Ralph C Ryan, Sr. He graduated from Sherman High School and attended Austin College and Southern Illinois Univ.
Pauline Frances Pauley was born in Preston, Oklahoma April 9, 1939, to Charles and Flora Williamson. She passed away in her home surrounded by family April 4, 2022. She married Sib Pauley November 22, 1958.
