Jean Lorene Beavers was a wonderful woman, friend, & mother. Jean, age 88, passed away peacefully October 14th, 2022 with her family by her side. Jean was born on February 19th, 1934, in Fort Worth, Texas to Clyde Lee Ramsey & Ruby Ramsey of Denison, Texas. She was love, she was laughter, she was kind, & compassionate. Jean loved her family, to cook (fabulously), & the one and only, Elvis Presley. Jean is proceeded in death by her Mother & Father, Clyde and Ruby Ramsey; Her Husband, Bobby Beavers; & Her Sister Carol Delores Ramsey. Jean is survived by her brother, Harold Lee Ramsey (Jeanie) & Calvin Dean Ramsey (Jimmie); Her Daughters, Sherry Lynn Beavers Sigman Williams & Cathy Marie Gardner Carlton; Her Son, Jeffery Dale Beavers (Becky); Grandchildren, Justin Michael Sigman, Patrick Dale Murray, & Courtney Marie Carlton; Great Grandchildren, Brooklyn & Skylar Browning. Along with her many friends & cousins that love her. Family Night will be at the funeral home on Friday, October 21st, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, October 22nd, at 1 pm at Cravens Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at the Westhill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas. Betty Lavinia Buchanan was born to Lem (Bud) and Juanita Walton on July 21, 1938, in Liberty, OK. She was known to her family as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, and aunt.
Rebecca Jane Watkins passed away October 10, 2022 in Denison at the age of 67. She was born in Sherman to L.A. “Chuck” and Mildred Watkins. She often said she was “the other child”; in fact, she was the fourth born of five children. Rebecca grew up in Whitewright in a happy and healthy home. Rebecca worked for many years for Cigna and later as a in home care giver. But her greatest passion was her family. She was hard headed, opinionated but fair, loving, and generous. It was not necessary to guess about how she felt about something, she was plain spoken and straight forward. Rebecca was a devoted and caring mother; her pride and joy were her children. She once fed Ryan’s entire baseball team by cooking a big bag of hamburgers for their road trip. She had a big heart and was willing to help anyone in need. Rebecca loved her dogs, especially Duchess. She was widely respected and greatly loved. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Mildred Watkins; and sister, Roxanne Johnson. She is survived by her sons, Ryan Vick, and Chad Vick, daughter, Shelly Burdick and husband Bruce; grandchildren, Keaton Mudgett and Jordan Mudgett; siblings, Lillis Martin, Chuckie Watkins and Kimberly Watkins; aunt, Sharon Fleming and husband Larry; along with many nephews and nieces and extended family. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at 12:30 PM at the Whitewright Visitor Center 111 West Grand Street Whitewright, Texas.
Jonas Storm Berry, 30, originally of Denison, Texas passed away on September 26, 2022, peacefully at his home in Nashville, Tennessee. Storm was born in Sherman, Texas and attended school in Denison.
James Allen Cowles passed away October 5th 2022 at his home in Howe, TX. He was born August 24th, 1945 in Columbus, Indiana to parents Charles and Dorothy Cowles. Jim served our country honorably as a Marine and was a Vietnam war veteran. He was an active church member of Bethel Baptist Church in Howe, Texas. Jim was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by his sister Charlotte Smith of Hope, Indiana; his son Robert Cowles, his grandson Jonah Cowles, and his daughterinlaw Irina Cowles of Sherman, TX. A memorial service will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church, Columbus, IN on October 29th at 2pm.
