William Ridgway Whitehead

Sherman- The funeral service f o r Wi l l i a m Ridgway Whitehead will be held at 1pm on Nov. 5, 2022 at Fairview Baptist Church. A private family burial will follow at DFW National Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Whitehead passed away October 30 at 8:12pm at the age of 92. Bill was born March 18, 1930 in Fowler, Kansas the first born child to the late William and Mary (Kelley) Whitehead. He married his sweetheart, Norma Lea Luper, on April 1, 1951; they enjoyed 71 years of marriage. He served in the US Army during the Korean War; in his career, he worked with Standard Oil, University of Arizona, Austin College, Texas Instruments, and he retired from Libby Owens Ford in 1990. He also operated various businesses. After this, his real career, his ministry, began full time. Having served as a Chaplain, having worked in Jail Ministry, and being a longtime member of Fairview Baptist Church, he now pastored and ministered full time. He pastored Country Chapel twice, he served as Missions Pastor at Fairview Baptist Church, and he founded Share Ministries in 1985. Known as Mr. Bill, he had a heart for serving those in need. The ministry grew from serving 40 people a month to over 1,500 people a month; it helps those with mental and chronic illnesses, those seeking employment, and provides food for over 30 churches to support their food pantries. Mr. Bill cherished EVERY volunteer and their countless hours of service, and he loved EVERY person that attended the Sunday services. He was a soul winner and was sold out to Christ at whatever the cost! His life is marked by mission - by the many he has impacted and influenced. He loved Jesus, shared Jesus, and changed lives in the precious name of Jesus everywhere he went. Jessie Lea “Jessielea” Patrick

Jessie Lea “Jessielea” Patrick, 86-year-old lifelong Sherman resident, went to be with her precious Lord and Savior with her loving family by her side Sunday morning, October 23, 2022, at TMC hospital in Denison, Texas Services will be held at 10 AM, Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at Harvest Time Assembly of God Church in Sherman. Pastor Irby McKnight, Pastor Nathan Cain and Len McLaughlin will officiate, and the burial will follow in the Memorial Park section of West Hill Cemetery. Family night will be held at Waldo Funeral Home Tuesday, October 25th from 6-8 PM. Jessielea was a faithful servant of her Lord Jesus Christ, was adored by her three children and was fondly known as Nana by her grandchildren. She was born August 21, 1936, the daughter of Robert Lee Wilkerson and Jessie Mae Souther Wilkerson. She married the love of her life, Frank Patrick of Sherman on October 26, 1951, in Durant, Oklahoma. They were happily married for 57 years. Jessielea attended and was an active member of Harvest Time Assembly of God since it was established in 1991. She began her career as a sole proprietor for ladies wear in Sherman called Lea’s Fashion Shop. When her children entered grade school, she started a job with Sherman Community Hospital and then ended her career at Austin College after 30 years. She claimed Austin College as her second family and still remained meeting with her friends from there up until her passing. She enjoyed advising students on campus and was a great support to them. Jessielea loved to study the Holy Bible and led several bible study groups and taught Sunday school for all ages. She enjoyed being a member of the International BSF (Bible Study Fellowship). She was passionate about a group she organized, the “Praying Grannies” a prayer group that offered prayer support to local churches and our community. She was also a member of a faith-based organization AFA (American Family Associate). She enjoyed serving as the president of PTA at Crutchf
