Sherman is formalizing its policies regarding the creation of specialized improvement districts within the city. The city council recently voted unanimously to adopt new policies regarding Public Improvement Districts, Municipal Utility Districts and Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones.
A well-travelled residential road in Sherman will soon see much-needed repairs. The city council has approved a $995,000 contract for work on Cherry Street that will see the residential road rebuilt and repaved.
Grayson County Sheriff's Office recently got a new position. Recently, the Grayson County commissioners approved the hierarchy change for the office allowing for a chief of staff position.

As County Commissioner Jeff Whitmire prepares to step down from his elected position, he is helping set things in motion so that Grayson County still has a voice on the Texas Conference of Urban Counties Policy Board. Tuesday during the weekly meeting of the Grayson County commissioners, he talked about how he has enjoyed the board and gave his support to County Judge Bruce Dawsey who will step in.

The city of Denison is moving forward with plans to issue nearly $57.9 million on bonds for upcoming projects early next year. The City Council unanimously agreed to issue notice of the city's intent to issue the bonds when it met earlier this month.

Those team members include one R.S./Certifying Authority (CA)/ WIC Director, one Registered Dietician Nutritionist (RDN), one WIC Certification Specialist (WCS) and Peer Counselor (PC), one Breast Feeding Educator, three additional Peer Counselors (PC), one clerk, one additional WIC Certification Specialist, one Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)/International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and one Registered Nurse (RN)/ International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
