Streets, stormwater, transfer station top Denison's public works needs

New garbage trucks, street repairs and stormwater staff topped the needs and requests of Denison's public works department this past week when city leaders gathered to hash out the upcoming budget for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Each summer, city staff and the city council gather to discuss the various needs of the departments ahead of the drafting of the budget for the fiscal year.

Watch your speed on county roads

The Grayson County commissioners warned drivers to watch their speeds when traveling down county roads. During the commissioners' comments portion of Tuesday's weekly meeting of the group, each commissioner took the time to remind drivers to travel the 5 miles per hour posted speed limit on county roads under construction.

Celebrating 25 years: Denison’s Tony Kaai talks time as city’s economic developer

A long-time figure in Denison's business community and architect in the city's industrial development is celebrating a quarter century of helping the city's business community. Earlier this month, Tony Kaai celebrated his 25th anniversary as the president of the Denison Development Alliance, the economic development arm of the city.

North Texas Regional Airport approved for some changes

When the Grayson County commissioners met this week, they spoke about many things but one of them was the North Texas Regional Airport. During the paying the bills portion of the meeting, commissioners approved two items related to the payment for equipment at the airport, but during the action items portion of the meeting, commissioners also heard about the preferred installer for other equipment at the airport.
