Denison signs agreement for design of new fire station

As Denison's 3,100-acre Preston Harbor planned development prepares to break ground, the city of Denison is getting ready to provide city services for the new residents that will call it home. In a unanimous vote last week, the City Council agreed to enter into a $700,000 agreement with Conduit Architecture and Design, LLC for design and engineering services for Fire Station 4, which will serve the development and other portions of northwest Denison.

Sherman forecasts 9.1 percent decrease in property tax revenues

The city of Sherman is expected to bring in about 9.1 percent less in property taxes over the next year when compared to the current fiscal year. The update on the city's revenue projects came last week during the first public hearing on the proposed 2025-2026 fiscal year budget, which is currently estimated to be about $197.2 million — $2.4 million less than the previous year.
