Sherman approves $54 million in water, wastewater bonds

The city of Sherman is moving forward with the next phase of ongoing improvements to its water and wastewater systems. The Sherman City Council recently approved the issuance of more than $54 million in bonds through the Greater Texoma Utility Authority to pursue multiple projects, including work at the Lake Texoma pump station and continued work at the city's wastewater treatment plant.

County Assistance District townhall set for Tuesday

Grayson County is just days away from a the first townhall for individuals in the unincorporated areas of the county to learn more about the proposed county assistance district. Commissioners have been discussing the county assistance district for months and are presenting opportunities to the public for them to learn about the proposed district and the sales tax associated with it.

Confronting the hard topics: Death & Dying Symposium to talk end of life

Next week, a seemingly dark subject will be brought into the light when the Texoma Area Death And Dying Symposium takes place. The event hosted by the Texoma Council of Governments, Area Agency on Aging of Texoma, and the Sherman Senior Activity Center will include seminars on lasting lessons, navigating grief, funerals and burials, comfort meds, with of life doulas and how families can support patients.
