Sherman on schedule for water, wastewater capital projects

As Texas Instruments and GlobalWafers prepare to ramp up production of semiconductors and silicon wafers in the city, the Sherman leadership is preparing to ramp up city utility services to meet this new need. City leaders received an update this week on ongoing water, sewer and utility projects from Pape-Dawson and a timetable of when some of the city's ongoing utility projects could be put into operation.

Commissioners hold special session to talk sales tax

This week, the Grayson County commissioners held a special session to discuss ways to help fund the effects of future growth in unincorporated parts of the county. Following Tuesday's regular meeting of the commissioners, the group met to talk about sales tax revenue and how the county could get its piece of the pie of money not already being collected in the unincorporated parts of the county.

Civil Air Patrol: Texoma volunteers continue serving America in local communities

A local group of volunteers have spent around 70 years helping to serve this community in a civilian capacity through homeland defense, search and rescue, emergency services and more. "The Civil Air Patrol is a national organization with around 68,000 both adults and cadets across the country," Texoma Composite Squadron Aerospace Education Officer Assistant Matt McManus said last week.
