BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — On Saturday afternoon, a white gunman in military gear attacked shoppers and workers at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, killing 10 Black people. Another Black person and two white people were wounded. Officials are investigating the shooting as a hate crime.
LAGUNA WOODS, Calif. (AP) — A man opened fire during a lunch reception at a Southern California church, killing one person and wounding five older people before a pastor hit the gunman on the head with a chair and parishioners hog-tied him with electrical cords.

Grayson College started its 2022 graduation season Thursday night with a ceremony honoring those who earned certificates through the adult education and center for workplace learning. Graduation festivities continued Friday with three ceremonies recognizing those who earned degrees from the many programs at the college.

Griner’s detention in Moscow extended by one month MOSCOW — WNBA star Brittney Griner had her pre-trial detention in Russia extended by one month, her lawyer said. Alexander Boykov told The Associated Press he thinks the relatively short extension indicated that Griner’s case would go to trial soon.
