Local eateries are doing a good job of following the rules for cleanliness and food preparation set out by the state. The most recent round of inspections by the Grayson County Health Department saw no establishment make anything below a “B” grade.
Despite having a banner year, Denison on Ice still remained in the red for its 2021-2022 season, city officials said last month. While the annual holiday ice skating event saw its highest revenues since it launched, the event only made back about 56 percent of its costs.
The Glaser Family Charitable Foundation has awarded its fall 2022 scholarships with more than $30,000 going to area students. The intersection of Redbud Trail and FM 1417 will temporarily close on May 23. In a news release issued Monday, the Texas Department of Transportation officials announced the closure.
The Mulberry Cemetery Association will hold is annual Memorial Day and Homecoming Service on May 29. The service will be held at the cemetery pavilion. Lunch will be served at noon. Those attending are asked to bring a dish or dishes. Drinks will be furnished by the association.
The Austin College community is looking toward Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 21, to celebrate its Class of 2022. The ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m. on the Clyde L. Hall Graduation Court, just north of Caruth Administration Building. The Class of 2022 includes more than 330 bachelor’s degree candidates and 15 Master of Arts in Teaching degree candidates. The College’s Baccalaureate Service will be held Friday evening at 7 p.m.
In honor of National Police Week, United States Attorney Brit Featherston recognized the service and sacrifice of federal, state, local, law enforcement, a news release issued last week from the Eastern District of Texas said.
