Sherman prepares $68M in water bonds

TI effect continues As construction of the new $30 billion expansion of Texas Instruments approaches, Sherman is taking steps to ensure the is ready for its increased needs. Members of the council agreed to issue more than $68 million in bonds this week for water projects that will help the city meet the demands of TI and other major projects that loom on the horizon.

Speed leading cause of Texas vehicle deaths

Last year the number of people killed in vehicle crashes in Texas reached a level not seen since 1981, and 34% of those deaths involved speed. In 2021, speed was the main reason we saw 163,756 traffic crashes in Texas, resulting in 6,493 serious injuries and 1,532 fatalities. That’s why TxDOT’s “Be Safe. Drive Smart.” campaign is urgently reminding motorists to slow down and drive a safe speed.
