Texas History Minute: H. Bentley Glass’s influence on science, biology

H. Bentley Glass was at one time one of the most famous scientists in the nation. His life was a journey that began with missionary parents and a Texas education. Glass traveled the world, wrote volumes of books, made important scientific discoveries, and in the 1950s and 1960s, helped the entire nation start thinking about science and the ethics of the latest discoveries.

Bryan County History: Days in Wade

“Wade is a thriving little town 20 miles east of Durant, 10 miles west of Bennington, and 2 miles north of Red River. It has two Dry Goods and Grocery stores, one blacksmith shop, one Church and School house, a W. O. W. hall, also a gin and sawmill operated by H. D. Felmet and Y. Tigue. We have two good doctors, Dr. Howard and Dr. Gee.” The Bokchito Success, March 22, 1906.
