Sherman nixes zoning change for proposed apartment complex

In a split vote, the Sherman City Council has denied a zoning change request for a new 336-unit apartment complex amid concerns about oversaturation in the housing market. The council voted 3-2 last week, with Mayor Shawn Teamann casting the tiebreaker vote, to deny a rezoning request for nearly 16.69 acres of land related to an apartment development that initially passed through the planning and zoning commission unanimously nearly a year ago.

County Clerks office to make records requests digital

This week, the Grayson County commissioners approved a request that will help usher in a new wave of modernity to county services and how the county handles receiving requests for county-housed documents. Commissioners have agreed to host software that will allow individuals to electronically request copies of birth certificates, death certificates and marriage licenses.
