Suspect calls 9-1-1, leads police on chase, assaults officer

9-1-1 caller arrested after police pursuit and allegedly threatening officers. In a news release issued this weekend, the Sherman Police Department said they have arrested a suspect for driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest/search/transport, evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, burglary of a habitation, assault on a peace officer and obstruction or retaliation after receiving repeated calls from the suspect saying he did not feel well.

Research Spotlight: Business Administration, Music, and Biology and Environmental Science Faculty to Present Current Projects

What to know: Missing persons and safety alerts and how are they used

According to the Texas Center for the Missing, there were 48,008 missing persons reports with 35,181 of those children in Texas in 2023. For children, the Center notes 80-85% of those are believed to be runaways, 10-15% are believed to be family abductions, 3-4% are believed to be non-family abductions and less than 1% are believed to be stranger abductions.
