Glowi nominations accepted until Oct. 4
Time is running out to nominate a local woman for the Denison Chamber of Commerce's celebrate of the women who make a difference in Grayson County. The chamber has decided to convert its fourth quarter luncheon into a celebration of local women leaders with what it is calling the Grayson Leading Outstanding Women of Influence award or GlOWi.

Sunny D pledges $8M Sherman site investment, city approves $50k incentive
Sherman is offering another line of incentives to one of its local manufacturers for continued improvements. This month, the city council approved a $50,000 agreement with Sunny Delight Beverages Company for $8 million of improvements to its Sherman production plant along FM 1417.

TxDOT announces Sept. 30-Oct 4 road projects
The Texas Department of Transportation believes the ongoing expansion of US Highway 75 is coming to a close, but the work on the highway may continue to impact drivers. In a news release issued last week, TxDOT said nightly closures on the roadway have begun as crews are working to install new signage.

2024 TEDxAustinCollege Speaker Lineup Revealed
Austin College will host the ninth annual TEDxAustinCollege Conference on Saturday, October 5, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Ida Green Communication Center, Sally and Jim Nation Theatre. The event will be free and open to the public, but registration is required. Speakers will cover significant topics ranging from the complexity of medical problems and effects of parental incarceration to advice for job seekers.

Chorvettes to host fifth annual Magnolia Drive-In on Monday and Tuesday
The Southeastern Oklahoma State University Chorvettes’ fifth annual “Magnolia Drive-In” performances are scheduled for Monday, September 30, and Tuesday, October 1, in the parking lot of the Visual and Performing Arts Center.
