SISD This week, all Sherman ISD elementary and middle schools began their annual discount card fundraiser to benefit the Sherman Education Foundation (SEF). SEF is introducing a new program for the 2024-25 school year in place of the Major Saver fundraiser. This year’s savings card is all digital using MoneyDolly, which makes it easier for students to sell and for buyers to save later! Since 2003, students have raised over $700,000 for SEF by selling discount cards, with the proceeds benefiting Sherman schools. Each digital savings card costs $20, and similar to previous years, the digital card includes savings at nearly 30 local businesses, along with the ability to take advantage of discounts offered outside the Texoma area. A few businesses new to the list this year are Eggsquisite Cafe, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Sandi’s Boutique and Super Shack. Like all student fundraisers, there are prize incentives for students based on the number of cards they sell – some of this year’s prizes include a limo ride with a pizza lunch, Bluetooth earbuds and a $50 Amazon gift card. “Half of each digital card sold or digital donation collected by a student will go directly to their specific campus, and the other half will be added to the SEF general endowment fund,” said Kathy Bickerstaff, SEF executive director. “These funds are huge for us to be able to provide all the amazing grants for Sherman ISD students, teachers and campuses later in the year!” The Sherman Education Foundation provides creative educational programs, educational aids, faculty and staff development opportunities, curricular enhancements, and other innovative solutions to meet identified educational needs of Sherman students which are beyond the basic educational program of the Sherman ISD. Digital savings cards are available from any Sherman ISD elementary or middle school student through October 31. […]
