Bread, bread, and more bread. If you have ever taken a look at the sixth chapter of the gospel of John, you know that it begins and ends with bread. This chapter of John’s gospel begins with people gathering on the lake shore of the fresh water Sea of Galilee, bringing family members, neighbors, and friends who were sick or suffering to see Jesus, in hopes that they would be healed or made whole.
