March is here, and spring is officially right around the corner, thank goodness! On Sunday of this week, we had lots of wind, some hail, heavy rains in some places, and a tornado in Oklahoma. On Tuesday as I write this article, it is supposed to get to 80 degrees and be sunny all day.

Laykin Little, a Grayson County 4-H member, won a $16,000 scholarship after placing first in the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo’s Heifer Superintendent’s Beef Challenge. Organized by the Superintendents of the Junior Breeding Beef Heifer Show, Beef Challenge is a unique contest subjecting a participant’s knowledge of beef cattle production to a rigorous test.
