Dear Abby: I reconnected with an old flame, “Ollie,” eight years ago. We would see each other and catch up during a weekly event he hosted. We’re both married with kids. We kept it non-physical but connected emotionally. We chatted every day and confessed our attraction to each other while still not engaging in anything more than our weekly encounters among friends.
Dear Dr. Roach: I am an 80-year-old active male taking only thyroxine. I have no known health issues. In November 2021, I experienced a migraine with aura and have a slight vision loss in my right eye. After seeing an eye doctor, a retinal specialist and a primary care doctor, the only thing I am hearing is the term “microvascular disease.” This is based on the eye doctor’s examination. I am unable to find a satisfactory definition or prognosis anywhere I search. Any information you could provide would be appreciated.
Dear Neil: We have four raised beds about 15 ft. by 6 ft. in which we plant various vegetables each year. We rototill and add fresh compost from our own pile each year along with fertilizer. Is it necessary to rotate the crops that we grow around in those beds? We have not been doing that, and our yield has reduced considerably over the past two seasons. Or could it just have been the crazy weather cycles we’ve been going through?
Dear Abby: I am a 47-year-old gay man. I’m welleducated, but there’s something I can’t figure out. Why do straight guys NOT want to be friends? I never hit on them, I enjoy a lot of the same pastimes like games, working on cars, etc. I want to be transparent, but when I tell them upfront, they disappear.
Dear Dr. Roach: My wife is Rh negative, and I am Rh positive.
If you’re thinking of starting a vegetable garden this year, you’re not alone. If we’ve learned anything over the past couple of years, it’s that, having fresh, readily available vegetables is priceless and doable at home.
Three cheese penne with roasted vegetables is an elegant dish that’s both colorful and flavorful. This one-dish wonder contains garden fresh vegetables roasted to perfection and tossed with penne in a creamy, dreamy, cheesy tomato sauce. One bite and you’ll be hooked.
