Ramen Salad with Shrimp and Scallions

Start to finish: 25 minutes Servings: 4 Ingredients: 10 ounces non-instant dried ramen noodles (see headnote) 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce 2 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil, plus more to serve 1 pound cooked, peeled shrimp, cut into 1/2-inch pieces OR 2 cups cooked shredded chicken 1 bunch scallions, thinly sliced OR 1 small cucumber, halved lengthwise and thinly sliced OR both Directions: Cook the noodles in a large pot of boiling water until tender, then drain, rinse with cold water and drain again. In a large bowl, mix the soy, vinegar and sesame oil.

Wedding planning leads to showdown over sister’s beau

A few years ago about this time of year I walked into a convenience store and the clerk asked me how the yard work was going. I hadn’t told him what I had been doing but he figured it out - probably based on how I smelled. You know that yardwork smell – a mixture of freshly cut grass, gasoline, and sweat. It’s hard to believe they haven’t come out with a designer scent for that one.
