Dear Abby: My wife and I were married 21 years ago. Since then, she has admitted to cheating with 10 different men. Each time, I stayed with her, hoping she’d change. I finally left 3 1/2 years ago because I couldn’t take it anymore. She became homeless, but for the past year and a half she has been living with my daughter and me because I saw her on the street one day and she looked terrible.

Dear Dr. Roach: I have a hemorrhoid. It’s not small, but it’s not huge. At times, it itches or gets inflamed and feels sore for several days. I’m thinking it could be tied off with dental floss so that the tissue can necrose and hopefully just fall away, and I can be done with it. Or could it end up being a catastrophe? Your thoughts, please. -- J.O.

Dear Abby: My daughter and her fiance are intelligent, successful professionals in their early 30s. Her fiance just informed her he was a sperm donor for a friend and his wife a few years ago, resulting in two biological children with one more on the way.

Dear Dr. Roach: My 73-year-old wife has been diligent in getting her mammograms done, plus blood tests and doctor’s visits every three months. In November 2021, she came down with what seemed like a very bad cold that was actually confirmed by X-ray to be pneumonia. After two rounds of different antibiotics, she had lost 35 pounds that she couldn’t spare, and it left her with weakness and a lingering cough. A CT scan later indicated that she “either has cancer or had cancer in the past.”

The 2A Region II one act play contest was held at Grayson College on April 19-20. The first day of the contest included rehearsals and the second day was the contests and performances.

This week is the National Football League Draft, a day that thousands of young men have been anticipating for years. I love to watch as the player hears his name called. The smiles. The hugs. Going to the platform and being congratulated by the commissioner. And then donning the jersey and cap of his new NFL team.

Dear Neil: After the winter two years ago killed my yaupon holly, this plant came up from its roots. It is about 8 feet tall and 6 feet wide. The small, white flowers smell somewhat like a lilac. Can you help me identify it, please.
