SHS Recognizes AP Student Achievements

SISD Approximately 80 Sherman High School students were recognized for their excellent performance on their May 2024 Advanced Placement Exams at the annual AP Awards ceremony on October 24. A total of 327 students took 605 exams in May. Over half of the exams taken received a score of a 3, 4, or 5, meaning the student could receive college credit. In all, 38 SHS students achieved a 5, the highest possible score. Students tested in English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Calculus, PreCalculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Human Geography, World History, US History, US Government, Macroeconomics, Latin, Spanish Language, Music Theory, 2D Art, 3D Art, Drawing, Psychology, Computer Science Principles, and Computer Science A. Students who received an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams were named AP Scholars with Distinction. This year’s AP Scholars with Distinction were: Zayd Boutkhil Obed Gonzalez Benton Graham Carter Hall Hein Htet Hayden Jang Carson Mathes Ze Pek Keyla Ramirez Hunter Thompson Maddison Wade Jacey Wiggains Ella Woody Students who received an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams were recognized as AP Scholars with Honor. This year’s AP Scholars with Honor were: Mauricio Canas Jenelle Lease Spencer O’Hair Hannah Parker Students who received scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams were recognized as AP Scholars.
