Sherman, Denison to honor veterans with parades
By Future Brown Herald Democrat Veteran’s Day is Monday and several local entities will be celebrating the holiday this weekend ahead of the official day next week. There will be two opportunities Saturday to watch parades honoring veterans, current service members and the organizations that support them. Saturday morning, Sherman Main Street will be host its 7th annual Veterans Day parade in downtown Sherman. The parade starts at 10 a.m. on West Mulberry Street. Parade floats will travel east and then turn south on North Travis Street. Then moving west, they will travel onto Houston Street for one block before turning onto North Crockett. The parade will return to West Mulberry. “Please help honor our local military veterans by attending the parade on Saturday, November 9th at 10:00am, ” information about the parade said. Just a few hours later, Denison have its own Veterans Day parade through downtown. The American Legion Fred W. Wilson-Sam Patillo Post 62 and the city of Denison will be hosting the event taking place at 2 p.m. in downtown Denison. The parade will travel down Main Street.
